Don’t know how to style that odd shaped vase? Here are some tips.
1. Location, location, location. If the vase has an odd shape all the way around, find somewhere you can appreciate it from all sides. Table or end table
💡 Pro Tip: If you’re short on space you can periodically turn it for a new look. Our donut vase is symmetrical so we put it against a surface.
2. Don’t over complicate it. And don’t add too many flowers! The more complicated the vase, the less items should be in it. Less really is more.
💡 Pro Tip: Try leaving it as is. It might hold its own just fine.
3. Use unconventional flowers Try eucalyptus (our favorite)! Or any leafy plant. Greens accent neutral colors well. Did you know humans can see more shades of green than any other color?
Try longer branches for tall vases, especially if you have a high ceiling. Eucalyptus is our go-to for any vase style, ferns are good fall back as well.
💡 Pro Tip: Your arrangement shouldn’t be taller than the height of your vase. If you stacked two vases on top of each other, your flower, leaf or branches shouldn’t tower over it, or be less than 75% of the height.
4. Use other vases as decorations Like we said in 2. Keep it simple you might not need anything inside it, however, another vase (smaller or larger, not the same size) of the same style can complement each other well.
🏆Pro Challenge: We have seen some amazing symmetry in rooms if you do have two of the same vases. Tag us if you have pulled this off!!
5. Experiment! Turn the vase, put it on a book, add sea shells, turn the book, try different things, get rid of the book. Give yourself a day or two to see if you like it or try again.
Do you have a go to style for odd shapes? Let us know. If we use it, we’ll tag you!
